How to write when asking for help

From Road Traffic Injury

When asking for legal help or representation I found that there were some common issues for your information being misrepresented and time wasted. Presenting your information in some particular way will help to reduce it.

Common issues

  1. Government organisations pretend that you have asked about something else.
  2. Private lawyers will waste your time asking about other issues where they have more interest rather than answering about the issue you are contacting them.
  3. You may end up repeating your self several times for different people till you get to the one who can answer your questions. That is common in charity organisations.

Content of the request

Most likely they will look only at the main part. They will look at attachments only if they thing they might be able to help.

Main part

Present summary of your case in one page. This should provide enough information for them to decide if they are able to help you. The story might be longer, but if you write longer you risk of them not paying attention to some key parts.
